The smallest Imaging Newtonian convinces with an optical performance and equiment that's elsewhere often found only with bigger systems. This fast Newtonian is optimized for rich field observation and of course for astro photography. Field illumination, brightness and image definition of its diffraction limited optical system convince even demanding users. 8" f/4 Imaging Newtonian advantages: -- fast and diffraction limited reflector system (f/4) -- bright image by forced 94% mirror coatings -- good field illumination by 63mm secondary mirror -- robust mechanical system, no tilting/bending even under heavy camera load -- improved Monorail focuser with 1:10 dual speed transmission - more stability compared with Crayford designs Good field illumination: With an inner diameter of 213 mm, the tube causes no off-axis vignetting and the 63mm secondary mirror offers enogh in-focus-light even for 2" eyepieces or cameras with larger sensors. The system has enough back focus - the use of binoviewers with moderate glass pass compensation is possible. Astro photography with the 8" f/4 Imaging Newtonian: This compact telescope is a specialist for astro photography without compromises. Its stiff tube and solid Monorail focuser can handle heavy CCD and DSLR cameras and the large secondary mirror (mentioned above) causes less vignetting than other systems.
